Welcome to the Hep forum, Linda. I am so sorry to hear about
your daughter. It sounds like she is seriously ill. I bumped Ziff's thread up for you to read and hope this helps some.
My husband, themister, had Hep C that was discovered during a routine physical in 2005. He likely had this virus for decades before he was tested. He treated twice. He was cured the 2nd time, but had serious complications of cirrhosis. He has been on the transplant list for 2 years, next month.
The three lab numbers you mentioned will tell us your daughter's MELD score. The score is used to determine where one is on a liver transplant list, should that be needed. If so, she would need to be clean and sober 6 months to be considered for a transplant. You can figure this score yourself with this link:
www.mayoclinic.org/medical-professionals/model-end-stage-liver-disease/meld-na-modelI hope your daughter is being seen by a hepatologist in a major medical center, preferably one that does liver transplants. She may not need a transplant now, or ever, but the best doc's are normally found there. With complex liver disease, she will want to have a good liver team.
I have heard very positive things about
Al Anon and other groups for the families of addicts and alcoholics. I hope you are getting some help for you.
Again, know you are welcome here. Big Hugs
