Thanks for all the lovely notes!
Saying it is great to be home is an understatement for sure.
We got back on late Thursday night, and I thought I would be feeling better faster, so by Saturday, I was getting all worked up about something being wrong with me or something. After a small crying episode and reassurance from Paul that all of the MD's had told me that I am healing well and my liver is behaving perfectly, I was able to have a peaceful sleep and lo and behold - on Sunday I definitely felt better.
I've had a 99.x fever for one day, but it has not gone any higher, nor has it gone back to normal. So rather than go to my favorite clothing store to browse, we are just going to hang around here today. It is so wonderful to be back with my little family - Paul, William, Snuggs the dog, Edgar the cat and the chickens - Carmello Anthony, Honey, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, P Diddy, Biggy Smalls and Marie Curie.
I am still taking what I consider to be a lot of pain meds -60 mg of oxycodone, 6 325mg tablets of Tylenol daily.
I am six weeks post transplant, but I also had that stupid hernia operation that kept me in the hospital for a week, and there is pain from that. There is also pain from the area of the untreated inguinal hernia, as well as in the area of my lower right abdomen where they had the two drains for the transplant and one drain after the hernia. For some reason, that area is very tender.
To be honest, I am sick of the oxycodone, as it makes me sluggish. But the Tylenol alone does not do the trick.
What were your experiences with pain meds in the weeks post transplant?
