Merry Christmas (Belated) and Happy New Year

I saw a FB news post on Harvoni and the price and Medicaid... and thought omg it's been so long since I checked in with my Healing Well family. Wish they'd get the price down on that med and others for Hep C.

Well, my daughter who was only 15 when Mike passed five years ago is now done with college for a bit and is working. She's actually working a ton of hours in the healthcare field. So grown up now.

I returned to the counseling field. I've affiliated with a private practice and time and finances will tell how that plays out. Meanwhile I'm the local jail counselor. Ironic how God brings things full circle. I quit working with juvenile offenders.

Meanwhle I am in my last class for my PhD and will take my comprehensive exam in a month. That is a three month test. Then I will write my dissertation for 1 1/2 to 2 years. Appropriately for this old gal, my thesis is on old people and technology. Inspired by my Mike's attempt to text me while I worked the night shift. He finally learned how to text love u 2.

God uses the lessons learned during the last 6 months of Mike's life over and over and over. This year alone I've been given the opportunity to help two friends dealing with similar issues. Loving Mike and walking those precious moments with him sustained me then and sustains me now in my every day. I miss every day yet he is evident in all I do for I'm a changed person because I knew him and loved him.

Anyways, every once and a while I love to come back and give an update on the old lady and her girl.

What a touching story. Good luck on your PhD. I got my first college degree in my 40's. My husband didn't understand why it was so important for me to finish it. But, I worked and raised kids, still caring for my youngest, and did it a few classes at a time. I graduated with honors and was so proud to wear the gold tassle, stole, and cords.
