Transplant for Themister!

After 3 years on the list and 9 (yep, NINE) offers, themister finally received a transplant on Father's Day. He is now home and doing very, very good!

He did have bleeding complications and required a 2nd surgery. He was in ICU 6 days and long nights before transfer to the transplant floor. His kidneys took a big hit, but they are improving daily.

I am so happy to read your wonderful news! I know that you two made a lot of sacrifices to get to this place. I hope that his recovery continues on a good path. I hope that you are also doing well, The Miz.

So glad I checked in and saw your post. WOW It must have been pretty traumatic and I'm sure a long, exhausting and difficult road for both of you to get here ... but wonderful news. Hope you have a smoother journey in future and that you both get some rest from the battle.

So so happy for you both !!!! Wishing Themister a flawless recovery from here on and both of you the ability to do everything that you have wanted to do while waiting for this miracle. Through it all, you have been so gracious by providing useful information and encouragement to us even when things were obviously so difficult. Your strength has been an inspiration.
