5 years ago, y'all where the reason for my sanity. Well, 5 years later, the wife is still here. Transplant, total success. She's doing well. Kidneys are still limping along and no change, so that's good. Someone tell the new forum masters that I can't use swype. I'd go into more detail but this is too hard to post on a phone without swype!!! BTW, glad to see a lot of familiar names still here!

I can Swype now. I've responded to a few posts. Maybe it's just an OP thing...she's got her 5 year follow up soon. Seems like yesterday. Was :-\ afraid I was going to lose her. But..yano what? I think a big thing was we refused to say it. To say goodbye. Lost my little sister to colon cancer. 12 years old. We talked it out. Said goodbye. Never did that with Shannon. She's still here. I should complile a greatest hits of the nightmares we had daily...it might help some people here.

I hear you rKane.. I was lucky enough to quit drinking and cure my hep c, before my cirrhosis progressed to esld..My brother wasn’t lucky..He got HCC.. so now I’m the caregiver, and his rock.. As you said, the stories are scary.. My brother will skip his lactulose in the morning, when he wants to go out to a store.. a few months ago, he disappeared.. I got a call from a hospital a couple days later. Someone took him to a hospital..

I hope your wife has a great checkup, and many more healthy years.
