Ok, sorry I did not give a response but I wanted to offer advice. Also if that other forum is the one I am thinking of, I've been active there a few times a year. The format is just a bit whacked out.
20 year with Hep B definitely is Chronic. When you don't know how you got it, it's likely passed on from mother to child. During our times (you are not much younger than me btw) anything was possible without any of us knowing about
it. Heck, could have even been in the hospital. I didn't know about
mine until I was 36 myself. Had zero symptoms.
It wasn't until I had some odd symptoms that really made me feel like death, that got me the diagnosis. If your older sister has it then it definitely sounds like it was passed along to you at birth. Try not to think about
the "how" you got it and more on the treatment.Your viral load suggests an active chronic stage.
While I could not tell you what to eat or what to avoid (there's nothing specific that works for everyone, but stick with more vegetables and stay away from fatty foods), I can tell you I have tried a range of Vitamin D3 as well for myself. There wasn't one that I felt worked better than others. I would be sure to include MK-2 and MK-7 into that mix as well, I always felt that was important. I do not think 5,000iu daily will do much for you. It may increase it a bit but it also may keep your numbers for Vitamin D "at bay" (meaning the same). I have normally taken 10,000iu daily myself and that was recommended by others in that other forum you mentioned. It helped me tremendously over time (I admit, I have been lazy on this the last few years, and that has hurt).
Make sure to stay a healthy weight as well. If you can exercise, continue to do so. A lot of people try things like Green Tea, Water with Lemon, etc. For some it works well but you have to be consistent with this and at least once a day. For me, I also added things like Vitamin B12, Magensium, Zinc, high dosages of Vitamin C as well.
It's good to hear you have chosen to stay off medication but if at any point in time you start to feel worse or different than normal, please see a Hepatologist to talk about
treatment. I feel the most effective one for me right was TAF (aka Vemlidy) but there are other treatments that may work for others as well. I too was afraid of treatment at first but now I have zero regrets after these 10 years.
Best of luck to you!

lucky,
I found you on another forum but it seems like you dont post there anymore as your last post I believe was on 2019. So happy that I found you here and I am glad that you are continously still posting here. I hope that you still do as your last post in here was 4 months ago. I really hope you see this and give me some advise.
I was unfortunately diagnosed at age 19 and I am now 39. Not sure how I got it as I was still a virgin when I got diagnosed and doctor predicted I must have gotten it at birth. However I dont think my mom have hep b. My older sister have it too and not sure about my other two siblings.
Anyways to make this short my hep viral load was around
800 back on May 2018
3140 on July 2020
3000 January 2021
7830 July 2021
6090 January 2022
5500 August 2022
I was hoping my viral load is just going to keep lower as it seems now my viral load as of today is 11,900 *cryiiiiiiing*
my wbc is 3.5 ( slightly lower than normal) ( normal range is 4.0 to 11)
alt is 24 ( normal)
alk 75 ( normal)
bilirubin 0.6 (normal)
my vitamin d is at 23 ( normal range is 30-100) my dr suggested to take 5000 units OTC vitamin D.
iron is normal ( I am glad that this is normal even if I haven't taken my iron supplement as I am anemic. eating tofu definitely helps and other food as well )
fibrocan is at 3.6 ( 2 to 7 are normal , no sign of scarring)
I hope you can give me some advise and information on how to improve my viral load or any other additional information . what to eat? what to avoid? Also what's a good brand of Vitamin D OTC to take . I am currently taking the brand Megafood .
I am not on any prescribed medication and I want to keep it that way. Thank You!
