Hi Lucy and Marge,
Thanks Marge for the input on the adrenal glands. I have a good book on Hepatitis, as well as one on dealing with prednisone. I think I'll check back in those to see what I can find out too.
Lucy,
I am glad you wrote. Welcome. What I did with the caffiene was to buy a can of decaffinated and mix the two. That way I can wean off the caffine and still get some of the effects..lol pretty sneaky huh.
I love my coffee and tea. I undertand about
wanting to eat all the time on the prednisone. I had to change my diet radically because the pred. caused my blood sugar to rise and I am not treating diabetic symptoms. So, I have gone on a low carb diet. And I have some things to eat when I am feeling really hungry that I keep here all the time. One is sugar free jello. My partner, Willie, teases me about
being addicted to it.. well, he's probably right. lol But it beats chopping on somethng with calories, fat and calaries after I've already eaten a meal and am still hungry, or hungry an hour later.
I try, and I stress try to eat every 3-4 hours, and eat smaller meals. The diet I am on stresses eating a certain amount of carbs, protein and fat per meal. And to try to stay within a certain calarie range.
I thnk mine is 1200. I have found lots of things I like to eat that are healthy.
I've lost 20lbs since being on this diet. That's an acomplishment for me anyway,.
and really is being on prednisone. If you need support with your diet you can write me off line or on here. My email address is posted in my profile.
Warm Regards to everyone.
Be Well,
Judy
