about pain liver!!!

i'm really worried about my mom right now! we live together and just the two of us.. i'm seventeen and she's 45. It wasn't too long ago that my mother started having liver pain and it wasn't until now (today) that she was crying from the agony of the pain! she says she doesn't want to go to the hospital because we don't have any money for anything medical right now and our medical insurance sucks! so she says she won't go to the hospital but she's crying so hard from the freaking pain... she's had some pain medication and she's a little bit better..more calm now. I really have no idea what to do, she is so stubborn and it's really worrying me!!!! HELP!!

Momentomori, welcome to the forum!

Does your mom have a diagnosis of liver disease? It normally doesn't cause that kind of pain. She should go to the ER or a private doctor. Tell her not to worry about medical bills. If she pays $1 a month, it's showing "willingness to pay" and she cannot be turned over to a debt collection agency or be harassed!

your mother needs to go to the ER. Any kind of acute pain like that should end up in the ER.  Not a clue what it could be, but usual suspects of acute "liver pain" or right upper quad pain are cholecystitis, or other gallbladder complications, or maybe appendicitis... hope everything goes ok

Are you sure it's liver pain? I have end-stage liver disease & I have never experienced anything like that. Sometimes it kinda aches, but that is probably more annoying than painful. If it's liver pain, it would be on the right side sorta between the chest & abdomen.

My husband had esld and didn't have alot of pain with it either. How are you doing Doug? Hope your hanging in there.:-) Pink Grandma
