The likelihood of contracting hep C that way is about nil. I concur with your doctor: Don't worry about it.

Judging from all your posts expressing anxiety and hypervigilance, I would recommend not sharing anything at all with another person, and to request tests for HIV and hep B and C from your physician.

Never say never...therefore, I would say very remote chance of contracting hep C or HIV that way. However, to get a weight off your shoulders, ask for testing.

I would say most likely you are OK. However, I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have worried about things like this. Get a blood test done. It will ease your mind. Rationalize that to get a disease this way would be HIGHLY unlikely (do you even know if the person you shared food with has hep c?) If you worry about things like this often you might want to think about seeing a psychologist and perhaps a psychiatrist. Oh and don't share food =).
