Just diag with end-stage liver disease

everybody please be praying.  we are at the hospital.   they are keeping him alive but if he doesnt get a liver in the next hours, then we are not going to make it .  Please everybody do what you can to take care of your love ones and make sure they know that you love them.  I have my kids and family here with me.

Okielady, I am so glad that he came out of the coma. I will be praying that he receives a liver soon. Hang in there.

The same thing happened to my husband.  Every thing is fine then two months after Dx we are told he will be lucky to survice the 4 months wait that is required for the transplant.  We are in St. Louis MO.

It seems from some posts that there may not be as long a wait time in other states, is this correct ?

Hello...It is my first time on here..I was diagnosed with varicies Jan. 2006 when they went in to blast a gallstone..since, I have been banded numerous times..had a large quantity bleed March 2007, rushed to ICU...developed ascities in April 2007...both caused by hepatitis...unable to work, depression..have tried 5 diferent anti-depressants..none worked, and side effects bad...started marijuana therapy, unprescribed in the state I live, making it illicit...works good for depression and other areas, pain etc...Dr. will not do transplant if illicet use for 6 mo...no alcohol use or other drugs...I am concerned with quality of life, as guarantee of transplant uncertain...suffer with depression indefinitly?...or have better quality of life the remaining 2 to 3 yrs. I have left.
