help needed w/ supplement ins

Hello Tld and welcome to HealingWell. I don't have the answer to your question but not too long ago I saw a poster at Walgreens that they would be more than happy to help people making that choice. So you may want to try your local Walgreens if you have one and see if they are still helping people with it. Or better yet ask your pharmacy what would be the best plan for you as as far as the drug plan. As they have all your meds and can have more of an educated discussion with you. If you are a senior citizen than there's probably a local senior citizen agency that can also help you out with the rest. Hopefully someone who has been there will come on shortly and give you some better ideas. Take care and good luck.

Hello tld, Welcome to the forum. My son has cirrhosis HepB we had no insurance for him but, you can go threw your Dr. and ask if the pharmacutical companies can help! Will, went threw the Gilead pharmsitical for Interferon and Hepsera. Now, Bristol Myers Squibb for Berraclude it's all 100% payed for and he gets 3 months supply at a time. You have to go threw an application process and your Dr. has to send an evaluation but, both companies work fast had Will's meds within a week! Hope this might help out! We are doing the SSI and Medicaid thing now, already been turned down 2 times but were still fighting! Hi, TID. Toni is speaking of what once was known as the "indigent drug program" that all pharmaceutical companies participate in for certain drugs. As she stated, it requires a letter to the drug company from your doctor (or completion of a form) for the drug you need, stating that you need the med but cannot afford to pay for it, accompanied by an Rx from your doctor. Some companies ship the meds to the doc's office, and others send you vouchers you can use for the drugs at the pharmacy. They supply 3 mos. at a time.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a "gap." Is this the difference between what the ins. company pays and the actual total cost of the med to you? Do you qualify for Medicaid? They will pay your Part D (Rx) premium if you qualify financially. There are many insurance companies out there covering Part D drugs. Contact Medicare and request a list of them! When you contact the insurance companies, ask if they cover the drugs you take and what your co-pay will be.
