Butterfly three-Thanks so much. I am so glad your husband is doing better. What do you think made the ammonia go down? Doesn't that just drive you crazy when something happens and you can't figure out Why! I just have to hope Jerry stays well until the next dose of Neomycin. He just finished the last dose on Fri. He has a Gastro appt on the 19th. It will be time for blood work then we go back to Vanderbilt on the 28th. I am thinking of you and hoping your husband stays good.

I apologise for not getting back with you. I hope you are doing alright.

I really need to catch up, I know. Having to take over everything is really time consuming, let alone what it is doing to me mentally. I'm sure you understand that though. I'm trying to take better care of myself, but there is so-o-o much to do. Terry is awake now and wants my company, but I wanted to do this. Now I will spend some time with him and the TV and then I'm going to bed. He can stay up all night if he wants, but I am tired. He understands though. We get along pretty well!!! We've been together 20 years. I pray for many, many more.

JoAnn, I think that everyone's prayers are what has helped my husband. He had diarrea for a few days and the swelling all went away along with the encephalopathy. I am really hopeful that this will last. I think with everyone's prayers it will.

Just curious about this. I've read that a person has to be on SSDI for 24 months before they are eligable for medicare and that is what the lady told us when Terry signed up.

Do you think your husband will be able to get medicare sooner? Terry's Co. said they were going to put us with Cobra. That will take almost all of his SSDI for both of us. He has been with that Co. for over 20 years. I can't belive they are going to do this to him.

Hi Carol, My husband applied for Social Security almost two years ago. He just had his hearing in April. If the Social Security is approved it will be considered from the time he applied which will be 24 months in July. Please continue to pray for us. I can't believe that Terry's Co is treating him that way either. Some businesses just don't appreciate their long term employees. My dad worked for a company that let all their long term employees go so they could hirer younger ones and pay them less. I will pray that everything goes well for you both.

I was hoping there was another way we could go.
I want to call his Co. and ask them some questions, but since it has been a few weeks since they told me this, and I still have not heard from Cobra. I don't want to mess up a good thing. At this point, they are not even requiring me to make the premium payments. They told me not to worry about them. Now, I am wondering if I should have gotten that in writing. So far, everyone is still being paid. I sure hope this doesn't come back and kick me in the as_. They have always been good to us before. I'm just not sure what to do yet.
If it's not 1 thing, it's another, right!

Hi to all. It has been about a week since my last post. I went to the doc yesterday 5/13 and was given the o.k. to return to work on Mon. 5/19.  After submitting my letter of approval to HR, my transplant coordinator called and informed me that my liver functions were out of whack and that I have to go in on Fri. 5/16 for a biopsy. I still feel really good but she said that rejection is silent. I just got to keep on keeping on. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Talk to you all when I know more. Hi to all. Well, I have good news. There is no rejection and no changes to my meds. They said the Hep C is only moderate and it does not appear to be attacking the new liver agressively as feared. They have no idea why my A.L.T enzymes rose. They were 68, then 107, and then 198. That is why they did the biopsy. All other numbers are good and improving. Looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Delivered by the mailman.
