How often should labs be done?

I am not sure how often your hubby should have lab work done, it appears from reading different posts that it can depend on stages of the disease, medications that are taken, etc. However I am a true believer in taking an active part in my treatment. You and your husband have a right to ask questions. This is his body and his life you both have a right to understand what procedures are being done or not done and for what reasons. You can call the doctors office that is recieveing the lab results and ask to either have a copy of the them and what they have said. Personally I do both. I keep copies of all results of my lab work and my tests results. For me it has been a help, when going from my GI to my hepatolist which is located out of town, because they didn't get to his office. I also keep a small notebook on me and when I think of questions I wite them down. It helps me remember specific things that I want to ask the doctors when my appointment time comes. It is also helpful to write answers down that they give me. sometimes I am so overwhelmed when I am in their office that it is hard for me ot remember exactly what was said. I have never had a doctor appear angry or annoyed at my questions. In fact just the oppostie has been true.
