New Member - Dad has Cirrhosis among many other things

My dad is 56 years old & had a liver transplant due to Cirrhosis over 7 years ago & just last year his hepa*** came back as well as a few new things.  He also has kidney & heart failure.  I came across this forum hoping to find support & people to talk to that can understand what I'm going through.  It's sometimes hard to talk to people cause they just don't understand what is going on & it is very hard to try to explain it to them.  I'm 26 years old & recently got married.  The week before my wedding my dad was in the hospital for what his doctor calls a "tune-up".  I've seen him go through a lot, physically & emotionally, & just want him to be healthy.

Hi DaddysGirl, Welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear about your father. You have come to the right place for friendship and support. There are many caring, knowledgable people here that know exactly how you are feeling and what you are going through. My husband has hep c and cirrhosis. His meld score is not high enough for him to get listed for a transplant yet. It is very scary to think that he has to get much sicker before it would even be possible for him to make it on the list. I know it is hard to watch a loved one go through so much illness. I pray everynight for my husband to have his health back. He is only 44 years old. I guess maybe that was around your dad's age when he first started becoming sick. I will pray for your dad and you. Keep praying and never give up hope.

Welcome Daddy's girl,

I know it is hard watching a loved one sick. Especially a daughter watching her father.
I totally understand the need to talk with others who understand also. When someone first posted back to me....I cried. No one understood how terrified I was until I found HealingWell. It was like a big weight lifted off my shoulders.

Butterfly is absolutely right. We have a lot of wonderful members here that are so good at supporting each other.

So post when ever you like and we will be right here.......You aren't alone.
