hi everyone................... turn

 

have been getting my daughter ready for back to school...she is a smart grl 2 advanced classes i am pround of her and she knows it...

 

Well my step-son has been helping me with my husband here lately  with taking him to doctors appointments and checking up to make sure he is doing fine. His potassium levels have been very low and the Dr and i have been working together in getting his level where it should be, i'm not to sure about the lactulose if he should start taking that only because he has been having alot of diarrhea.  although on saturday night i believe that he had a mini-stroke...it was late at night and after it passed he woke me and told me that his left shoulder and left had gone numb he would not listen to me and would not let me call 911 or take him to the hospital so i stayed up all night with him to make sure the he was ok...i tried telling his son but his comment was "there is no such thing as a mini-stroke".

 

My husband has a Dr's appt this coming Friday hoping that everything is as good as it's gonna get. Then the following week he has an appt with a cardioligist dr. His feet have been swelling up. Maybe that's why our regular md is sending him to see the cardio doc.

Hi, Cely!  I'm glad to hear that you are getting a little help from your stepson.  Please tell him that "mini-strokes" are known by the technical term of TIA or transient ischemic attack.  Some people have many of these small strokes before having a major one.  The TIAs generally cause no lasting problems, but should not be ignored as they are often precursors to a major stroke.  Does the doctor who is sending your hubby to a cardiologist know about your husband's "episode?"  It could be vascular...in other words, blockage of an artery.  I think you should go with your husband to the cardiologist, if at all possible, to make sure he knows about the episode your husband recently experienced.  Also, be on the lookout for any further episodes.  It's possible that your husband was sleeping on his shoulder and arm and they just "fell asleep."  But I would certainly mention it to the doctor.

No mini-strokes! Thats funny. That is exactly what the ER doctor thought my brother-in-law may have had a few days ago.

Hi Celey, sounds that your stepson needs to go online and get a little more educated about his father's disease. But I am so glad that he is now helping you out a little. That's the first step.
