what is the diff of hep c & alcoholic hep

Does anyone know the difference between hep c and alcoholic hep according to the md my husband has alcoholic hepititis not hep c. What is the difference. He has had or is having all the symptoms to ESLD.

Cely I am not a medical profession by any means.

Alcoholic hepatitis is caused by excessive drinking. Which can lead to cirrhosis.

Hepatitis C is a virus that attacks the liver. Which can lead to cirrhosis.

Check out the American Liver Foundation's website. It will give you a better understanding of the different liver diseases.
