Middlechild, welcome to HealingWell. I have started this new thread for you............when replying to other member's thread it is so easy for us to miss your post. I am so sorry about your father. My husband passed away from liver disease almost 2 years ago. He was only 46...this disease does not discriminate against age.

I am happy that you found us..........talking with others that have been through it and understand the toll it's taking not only on the patient but the family and caregivers is priceless.

My only advice to you is to take care of your self through all this and spend as much time with your father as possible. Let him know how much you love him. Talk to him about everything and anything.

Middlechild, I also want to welcome you to the forum. I can't really give you any better advice than Pink Grandma. Just wanted you to know there are others here that understand what you are going through and the feelings you must be having.

You'll be in my prayers.

Middlechild, I also wanted to welcome you to the forum! I've read your post about your dad and am so sorry that he and your family are going through this. Not everyone experiences pain in ESLD. Has Hospice been called in? They will be a great help to both your dad and the family and also make sure that he has no pain and is kept comfortable.

You will get a lot of support here, so I hope you will continue to post.
