new treatments

Hello..I'm female 47years Hep C 1b stage 4. Have had Hep for 25 years now.. I just tried my first treament last year, did not get passed the 12 weeks, I am a non-responder. Just had my year check up nothing new but Hep Doctor will be trying me on a new treatment in about 3 years..What it is I didn't ask, but It will have worse side affect than my other treatment.. So I didn't ask anymore questions..All I know is I went through hell just doing the 12 week try. My question is, Does any one have any insight to what treatment for non-responders they are trying out their right now?

Hi, Markev, and welcome to the forum.  I have hep C, diagnosed in '93 (contracted in '68 or '69.)  I recently read about a new treatment that is in trials now.  It adds a 3rd drug to the combo and is given for 24 wks.  Perhaps that is what your doctor was referring to.  You can check out current trials by going to the National Instututes of Health web site.
