Thanks for that article, Shelly and PG! This is the combo I'd read about
some months ago. I may look into it when it becomes widely available and they have more data. I was thinking that the addition of a 3rd drug would make the treatment even harder to handle than it already is. However, according to this, it's just the opposite. Of course, the fact that it seems to cure more people and only has to be taken for 24 wks. are huge positives. However, I think they will have to wait awhile and see how many of those people treated relapsed. The article did say that more people drop out due primarily to rashes. I have very sensitive skin, so it would just be my luck to be one of those people. I will try to remember to bring this new treatment to my hepatologist's attention. I'm sure, being a "star" at Mayo, she is aware of it, but I want to get her thoughts as it would pertain to me personally.
