NV, I'm sorry I accidentally deleted your other post. I thought it was a duplicate.
To answer your question, I never had fever or chills. Does your dad have an infection? The worst part for me were the days following the chemoembolization. I had quite a bit of pain. The doctor told me that was from the tumor dying. A couple of months following that, I had TheraSphere treatment as part of a new study. That completely killed the tumor and also the rt. lobe of the liver, which was subsequently removed. Of course, I had some post-surgical pain and was in the hospital for about a week. It was a rather long recovery process, as I developed incisional hernias which had to be repaired, and then had a problem with the drains clogging up. However, I never did have a fever. I take Lortab on a regular basis, mostly for hip pain (artificial hips and 2 revisions on the left, and a needed revision on the right.) I occasionally take an 800 mg ibuprofen for arthritis pain, though I try to keep that to a minimum. The doctors have never told me NOT to take anything except for hormones. I was taken off HRT immediately after being diagnosed with HCC. My HCC was a direct result of hepatitis C, which I contracted back in the 60s.
