Hi I am a 31 year old female with AIH. I have had it since the age of 12. I was on Imuran and Pred. when I first started out. I was only on pred. for a few years. I'm now only on Imuran 50mg and have been for about 15 years. My husband and I are looking to get pregnant now and I'm scared of the side affects the Imuran might have on the baby.. Anyone out there had a baby on Imuran?? Any side affects? My doctor says it's okay to be on it and get pregnant. I'm not sure about that. Also I have been trying to get pregnant for about 8 months now and nothing yet. I heard it can be harder for someone with AIH to get pregnant. Please let me know your comments on getting pregnant on Imuran if you have been through it. Thank you.

Hi, Bulldog. Thanks for starting a new post, as I suggested. Did you see cj7's response to you in the other thread...the one titled Autoimmune Hepatitis? It's on the 2nd page. She explained how she got pregnant (not intentionally) and had to abort at 3 mos. Please do not continue trying to get pregnant until you have discussed this thoroughly with your hepatologist.
