High Alt and Ast scores

Has your doc discussed more tests?  You'll need to figure out what's causing the increase in your enzymes.  They'll likely do another set of labs in a week or so.  Probably order a CT scan or MRI of your liver.  They'll also do all the viral hepatitis serologies.  Those take a few days for results.  There are a whole lotta things that can elevate your levels.  Are you a heavy drinker?  Do you know if you have Hep A, B or C?  Are you overweight?  Have you been on any antibiotics or taking any supplements lately?  Are any other levels elevated?  Like bilirubin or Alk Phos?  How about PT or PTT?  Do you have a copy of your labs?  If not, start keeping copies of your results.

Be sure to speak to your doctor and don't freak out!  Those aren't super high.  When mine first went up they were ALT: 848, AST: 740.  I know of others who were in the 1000's.  Everyone is different though with how their bodies react to the increases.  I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis.  It's a chronic condition but is fully treatable.
