Hi,
We arrived home from the hospital this afternoon and the chemoembolization went well. He was scheduled to be at the hospital yesterday morning so we stayed at a hotel near the hospital the night before so we wouldn't have to rush in the morning. Yesterday morning, they had him in a room and prepared for his procedure by 10 am but we knew there would be some wait time. At 2pm, he wanted a paper and the nurse didn't think he would be going in anytime soon so I went to get a paper for him and sure enough, as soon as I left, they came and got him. I was told to expect 2 to 2 1/2 hours of waiting but by 3pm he was done and back in the room. He was awake and HUNGRY. He ate a chicken sub, some baked chips, three cookies and drank a large drink. After eating, he slept for a few hours and then ate again. Last night, he slept well and was still feeling good today. He was told if he felt up to it, he could go golfing on Saturday. And even more good news... He has an appointment for a transplant evaluation and testing on April 26. It will be a full day of testing but he says he's ready for it. There are so many people praying for him. I'll send another update if anything changes but right now I'm going to focus on everything positive that's happened since we got this terrible news on March 25. Everything has happened so quickly and I now understand what people are talking about when they say it's an emotional rollercoaster. Thanks so much to everyone who has given me so much information in a short time. I can't tell you how helpful it's been to have a clue as to what's going on. It would have been useless to try to process all that information in the doctor's office under this much stress. God bless all of you.
Linda
