Hi, Susie! Welcome to the forum. I also heard that recent news about CT scans. MRIs are entirely different since there is very minimal radiation. Ultrasounds use sound waves, so no danger there. I have abdominal MRIs every 6 mos. due to past liver cancer. Sometimes they will do a CT instead, but the MRIs with Gadolinium contrast are much more revealing and accurate so I don't have CTs often. I've had many x-rays and CT scans over the past 8 yrs., though (due to multiple hip surgeries) which did concern me some. Now I only need x-rays once a year.
I suggest you discuss your concerns with your doctors. If you are not seeing a hepatologist yet, you might want to do so. The liver lesion and enlarged abdominal lymph node should be reviewed by a specialist.
