Hello!


I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with AIH when I was 21. I have cirrosis and was have been in the hospital for at least a week each year since with complication from the medications and enzymes raising.

I write this post because I have never met or talked to anyone else with AIH and would really love to get some insite on others experiences, research, resources, etc.

I would really appreciate any friendship in this struggle as I feel as if I am alone and I am the only one that knows what it feels like.

Annabelle, welcome to the forum.  I'm sorry you were diagnosed with AIH at such a young age, but it is manageable.  I'll let Dany know you have joined the forum.  She will be able to help you with information and support.

Hi Annabelle,

I too have AIH. I was diagnosed in Jan 2007 at 38. I don't have cirrhosis. I had severe onset and damage but it hadn't scarred.
What meds are you on and how often do you see your doc and have blood work? Did you have cirrhosis at diagnosis or did that come on later? Do you see a hepatologist or a GI doc?

Hello Annebelle and welcome to HealingWell.  Sorry that you had the need to find us,  but sure glad you did.  

I also love the name Annebelle.  It's and oldie but a goodie.  

We are a very diverse forum.   Members are patients or caregivers that  probably include most if not all of the liver diseases.  AIH is well represented here.  We are here for each other for support and education. 

As most of the liver diseases share lot's of the same symptoms most of us can relate to what you are going through in one way or another. 

We also have an educational thread in our resource folder near the top of our forum.  It has a lot of good information in it, that a number of our members so graciously contributed to.
