Hi Connie,
No, he never did treatment for Hep C. He didn't even know he had it until he had to have his gull bladder removed which he almost didn't survive. He doesn't drink but is a heavy user of pain meds due to a back injury many years ago.
He hates the lactulose and doesn't take it often, its supposed to be 3 times a day.
I figured he was getting sick from being in and out of the hospital so much as well as not moving at all, on top of that he smokes.
Another question I have, he is diabetic and no one can even get blood from his fingers when they prick him to test the sugar, is that common too?
He needs to have a hernia repaired but its risky for them to do surgery because his platelets are low, from what I have been reading it seems common for ESLD patients to have gull bladder and hernia issues.
He is just a mess and doesn't want to do anything to make himself better so the best my family can do is keep ourselves informed as to what we can expect.
Thanks for the advice, the forum is very helpful!
