End stage liver disease and sickness

I am a new user and have a question?????

The person that i care for has liver disease...........don't really know what stage!!

He drinks a litre of vodka a day and drinks around the clock. Last night he vodka ran out and when i got up this morning he looked like death. He had some milk to drink which is unusual for him to drink anything but his tipple. He started being sick and continued for an hour or so until he had some more vodka. Why is he sick like that when he doesn't drink his vodka.

He has some numbness in a leg and sleeps alot. His palms are red and he has a yellow tinge. He also has raised lumps on the palms of both hands. When he drinks he falls asleep aswell.

Does anyone know whats going on?

His body has become accustomed to alcohol; therefore, when he doesn't have it he gets sick. He may also get shakes and sweating. These are signs of withdrawal. The red palms and jaundice are symptoms of liver disease. He may have a pinched nerve in his lumbar spine causing the numbness in his leg...though it would normally cause pain, so I'm not 100% sure that it's a nerve. He really needs to see a doctor and for you to go with him to get information on his condition. Without that, it's just a guessing game.
