Hey... its really hard!! no one knows what it is like unless they have been through it. My dad is waiting for a liver transplant and the amount of pressure it has put onto our family. It seems to have all been ruined. But we have to keep hopeful for him, perhaps things will get better after the transplant.

Vicky , Please hold your head high. I'm a 53 year old and just had a full liver transplant. Had the transplant 5-5-17 and as of now I'm doing great. I'm with with family and on the way to a full recovery. I'm sure there be some hard times from here on out, but as long as there is love within your family and your father is willing to fight he can win.. I had a great team of Doctors here in Pa. Not sure just how much imformation I can give out, but here to help in any way I can.

I had been sick 4 well over a year, until now.Blood count was down to 69, now it's at 151. I wouldn't have been here by the end of the summer . I keep my head high along with my loving family and here I am here a week out of transplant writing this to you.

Welcome to the liver forum. You posted in on a really old post...new folks have come and gone since then, but here we are.

My partner Mike had his TP in 2011 and is doing great as well. It was a while before he was back to GOOD health, but now he plays golf, is busy at home, and is very thankful for the GIFT OF LIFE.

I can't believe only a week out of TP you are at your computer typing away...

If you look up to the top of this page, you will see a SEARCH choice. YOu can wander around looking at old posts if you like...put in Liver Transplant and a lot of information will pop up.

Our story is there in hundreds maybe a thousand posts over time...the story was dire before his transplant and there were some ups and downs after, but her he is...6 years and 17 days later...not that I am counting our blessings...but it is a date you don't forget.

Mike still had Hep C when he got his new liver and it was a few years before he got the new meds, so we have been worried that new damage was going on. But his latest tests are very promising.
