Through readings on the internet I have found that Abdominal Pain Or Upper Right Quadrant Liver Pain can be caused by numerous ways. A few weeks ago, the pain started when a deep breadth was taken. Shallow breathing does not bother me as much to a point beyond shallow breathing is another story. Last week my doc prescribed a muscle relaxer which does not do anything. It is not a cramp or bloat feeling. It is pain. The numerous ways that can cause pain is liver cancer or (HCC),Heptocellular Carcinoma being the worst which affects 1%-6% of people living with cirrhosis. I just had an ultrasound in Jan/2011 and it did not show anything. Other ways are (IBS), Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gastritis, (PUD), Peptic Ulcer Disease, Pancreatitis, Ascities and scar tissue from prior abdominal surgery known as adhesions
. Some of these would require distention of the abdomen which I really have not experienced. I have gained a few pounds, between 3-5 pounds in the last month. The adhesions could be the problem because i had my gall bladder removed. I talked to my doc yesterday and he upped my Lactulose to 3 or 4 tablespoons a day and lowered my lasix to 40 mg.'s and 100 mg.'s of spironolactone. He thinks it may be from my BM's. I told him maybe 4 to 5 BM's a week and that is once in those days. Also, I have been feeling lethargic and thirsty(dry mouth) all the time. He thinks I should have 2 or 3 BM's a day. Is he kidding me! Also he wants routine bloodwork and ammonia levels done next week. Just to let you know, the research was done after my phonecall with my hep doc.
