On the other AIH group that I'm on...a couple of people have written in that there dogs and cats were diagnosed with AIH. Apparently, they can manifest the same symptoms their humans have if they have a close relationship. They are so closely attached to us but it is truly amazing that the possibility can even exist. One lady said that a friend had developed a rare tumor and then her dog did as well.
Weird, I agree, but not as uncommon as you'd think.
Dogs, and any animal for that matter, have the same organs we have so the can most certainly have many of the same diseases we have.
I hope your girl does well and maybe they can commiserate together and get well together
