I went to a yard sale this morning and picked a clothes dryer for $20 and when it didn't fit in my car the people holding the sale delivered it to me home! I love going around these sales and looking for bargains.

But I wouldn't want to hold my own so I can understand how you feel Rick! Too much work for very little return :)

With all the drama of Mother's Day ,seating arrangements at the restaurant ,(gotta keep em separated) I'ts been darned hard remembering who likes and doesn't like each others partners .It completely slipped my mind that I too go to hospital on Monday for re banding,biop,.The GI want's to keep me in until Wednesday to discuss options, he is reasonably sure that it is Liver Cancer.On the flip side ,I will not have to visit the needy of Ettalong.That is just so depressing. The Vinnie's handout is just not enough,it cost me more than it cost Vinnie's .I'm not trying to be boastful I just feel so sorry for them.Hence I won't be posting until at least Thursday or Friday your time ,Karen may post.Till the time ,Bye bye

Hi Mick,
I had 2 cancerous tumors in my liver that were found after my transplant. IF you are diagnosed with cancer, it could help you get a transplant in the future. Remember to sleep with your hands on top of the covers, as the nurses frown on pocket pool. Be well.

Yard Sale!!! AHH haaa haaa haaah ahaaaaa, glad it's you and not me bubba. I'd rather sit with my head in a bucket, and give the kids free swings with a bat. Yuck, about the same as moving.
Mothers Day, man oh man - now that's a REAL holiday I look forward to. As long as I don't speak on that day - I'm golden. All the girls, and grand daughters get together at wife's mom's house, and try to out cook each other. It can get ugly in the kitchen if they all want the mixer at the same time - so I stay clear of there as much as I can, otherwise I end up with a plate full of burnt stuff. So I practice my dumb looks on that day, and pray that they ask me to" run up to the store for me." That's good for at least an hour, two if I take the grandson.

Mick, my MELD was automatically raised to a 22 from a 6, due to the current cancer.  If it IS cancer, let your doctor know that you want chemoembolization (to shrink the tumor) as soon as possible.  They will want to do that anyway, so best to let them know you want that done ASAP.  If they get the biopsy results while you are in the hospital, it would make sense to have it done while you are still there.

My prayers are with you, Mick.  I can't joke about this, since I'm currently in that situation and believe me, it's not funny.

David, Rick and everyone else ,
Not long home from Mother's Day lunch .With "Princess" going into hospital tomorrow he won't read this (he never goes back more than a day) . Does it seem strange to you ,some 53 weeks after Michaels meltdown he's still on 2 /3 week visits with Prof Veysey. The visits cost $280 odd and we get 85% of that back . Is Michael his "cashcow?" I can't say anything to Michael as he thinks the sun shines out of Prof Veyseys ass. Just want a few different opinions . All I do is hear them laughing in Veyseys office . I went in on a few occasions and nothing medical been mentioned just a form for his bloods .

I think you do tend to get seen more often when you are using the private system. It is good that he is seen so often, 2/3 weeks would never happen in the public system for such a long period of time. If you can afford the gap I would keep seeing the Professor for as long/and as much as you can. It is better to stay on top of things.....

Having a doctor that cares about you to that degree means everything. I doubt the Prof is seeing Mick as a cash cow, he probably has more than enough patients as it is. My doctor and I talk politics as much as meds, but in the end, he is learning about me from my bloods and how and what I say to him. You can't put a price on trusting your doctor completely. I have my docs email address and personal cell number. I've never used them, but it's nice to know I could.

Well, that does seem excessive to me in terms of visits and blood draws.  I think once a month, at most, would be fine.  After my initial cancer treatment and surgery ('06-07), I was seen every 2-3 wks.  But as time went on, it because every 3 months and then, in the last 3 years, every 6 mos.

However, as you know, every patient is different.  One can also quickly crash without warning.  Now that he has what is most likely cancer, it's best that he is seen frequently so Dr. V. can stay on top of it.

Please let us know the results of the biopsy as soon as you can.

Hi David, Rick ,Connie and all,
Mick's still in hospital,Suzi and I were there all day .Dr Veysey was there when we got there ,he was with Mick .Said there had been a few small concerns but everything had stabilised . He slept until about three thirty ,said he felt ok,but had very sore stomach area and a bit of pain. We are picking him up at eight thirty Wed morning , Prof Veysey wants him in there till then ,keeping a check on him . Is there a bit of "Bromance"there? I'm wondering. Anyway we will be there tomorrow with him. Would like to thank everyone for there kind thoughts and wishes. Rick I liked your above post (can't help thinking My Princess will find an opening somewhere in there . So watch out!.) I'm taking his laptop to the hospital tomorrow .So will keep you all posted.

Hi Guys and Dolls, it's Karen writing for Mick , He's feeling reasonable ,still has sore stomach.Results from biopsy will be known later today , if not Dr Veysey is going to email me . However Doc's 99% sure it's cancer ,no big deal at this stage he said. Didn't get banded ,back in two weeks for that . Veysey says I've got three options with the cancer ,which we will discuss in 9 days time .
On a lighter note I was having some wheat Bix for breakfast and noticed this female nurse looking at me ,and I could tell as the blood trickled out of my nose whilst still eating ,upon using my forearm to wipe my nose .She was thinking this is why I hate men. Anyway boys and girls I'll be home by 9 in the morning and maybe I'll be able to work out what's going on by then.

David , Just showed that video to Prof Veysey and a nurse ,they both say it didn't happen . What say you ? Probably like the Moon landing (didn't happen either). And what about Bin Laden ,some say it's Osama Escabar .
