New Question, again!!??

Connie, I have told him to ask the doctor Tuesday about getting help. I dont know honestly how much more I am going to be able to handle. I am so tired. But, I nap when I can and he lets me sleep too.

Now there is something new going on though. Hopefully someone knows what it is. We finally got her to have several bms yesterday but nothing that really showed any food, just liquid. Last night I took her and noticed it looks like there is an oily film at the top of the water and the actual bm itself just looks like the lactulose. What could cause the film? I have never seen this before and have worked in many long term care facilities. Kind of baffled by it.

Yesterday was a real bad day for her. Crying out in pain, 2 Tylenol at a time barely helped. She was very restless and constantly trying to get up. Crying out for daddy, at some points it sounded like she was talking to him instead of crying out for him. She came around sometime in the night, was constantly wanting to run to the bathroom, but didnt do enough to amount to anything and then that is when I noticed the oil film. She went just now since about 3 in the morning, barely anything there, but still the film. She woke us up screaming and crying this morning. She acts ok to some extent, but she is acting crazy too Being loud saying off the wall things, laughing at nothing. I pretty much know she will be back in it bad later and if shes not I will be surprised.

Lord help me, I am so tired, from racking my brain. I give up. Like her doctor said Thursday, its not treating the disease anymore, its treating the symptoms. So all I do now, is make her comfortable and try to reassure her. We have slept in the living room with her since Monday, and she pretty much makes it clear nothing else will do. So I do what I can to make her happy. Pleas keep me in your prayers because I dont know how much longer I can be strong, when all I want to do is run and hide.

Sorry, I know nothing about the film on the BMs.

Natty, I really feel for you.  It sounds like she is headed for another hospitalization.  If so, don't try to be there as much as you have in the past.  Get yourself some rest!

I'm sure when you got involved in her care, you had NO idea it would be like this and drag on so long.

I will keep you and your MIL and the rest of the family in my prayers.  Try and rest when you can.  You have been strong and solid for so long...what a gift you are to your family.  A beautiful example to your children to show what loving family members do for each other.  Rest and stay strong.
