black spots????

hey all, thank you for all the info on hep c. sis in law called me yesterday, it would seem hubby has been tested for hep c and it was negative. the peripheral neuropathy is indeed nerve damage from the alcohol and he is losing the use of his legs. he was told this can be stopped and possibly reversed if he quits SOON! g.p. urged him to cut down quicker than he is doing as the longer he drinks, the more damage will be done and the less chance of reversal. they have told him to take ibuprofen for the pain in his legs and the pain in his head(aparantly the pain in his head is from the ascitic fluid travelling when he sleeps)??!.
we shall see what he chooses to do this next week coming. off to take my boys to school now. love to all, have a good healthy day.xxnatasha.xx

thanks mick, i have read him many posts from here but guess it still the denial thing, coupled with the fact that this is happening to other people and refusal to see its gradually happening to him too. i got tired of trying to talk sense into him, im not good with irrationality and he was so irrational it wasnt funny. he is at his sisters at the mo, trying to come off the alcohol. they told him originally to cut down slowly as stopping suddenly would likely put him in a coma. from what his sister has said, he has cut down but not enough. all i can do now is sit and wait and hope he makes the right choice before it is too late, that 'too late' day is drawing nearer all the time.
he has the facts, its his decision.
if you dont mind me asking you mick, when did you reach the point when you said, ok enough? i asked rick the same thing and it differs so much from person to person.

Natasha I feel so bad that your hubby just does not "get it". I hope he comes to his senses and is able to get the help he needs.

Keep hanging in there Natasha. I keep you and your husband...all my "liver friends" in my prayers. Don't give up hope. Remember that every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.
