Can anyone help with this?

I was looking for some old posts from Rick "timeless". I couldn't find them, even using the search box. Since he closed his account, does that mean all his posts are gone too? Or am I searching for these the wrong way?

I had thought of that. I sometimes delete posts if I think they reveal too much about me...location, employment, name, etc. (I am paranoid about work...don't want to lose job because husband has chronic condition. I know that is not "suppose" to happen, but hey, we all know s**t happens.)

But, what I have discovered is, is that I can delete a post in a thread that someone else has started. Or my own posts in a thread that I have started. But I cannot delete my initial post in a thread that I started. I can trim it down, but cannot completely delete it.

It is like "timeless" Rick has completely disappeared. That makes me sad. I also think it is unfortunate for all the forum members and lurkers. His journey is an important one, as it demonstrates how a patient can reclaim their health by taking the right steps.

I miss Rick being here. And all his old posts disappearing are like someone threw out all the family photos after a divorce. :(

well on that I agree... and u might be right... I was hypothesizing... not sure... but Emma... u gotta just move on... did u get his email... I think I have that somewhere or one of the other members could help u... yes his missed.. and he made a difference... but we gotta move on... Sandia

I wasn't aware that Rick's previous posts were missing, but I haven't been online much.  It could be that all his posts were deleted when he deleted his acct.  Or he did it himself.  Which is a shame because so much of what he posted was very valuable to other members.  If he did it, I wish he had just deleted the questionable or inflammatory posts and kept the good stuff.  I'll check with him and see if it's okay to give his e-mail to those who request it.

No, the gentleman who runs HW, erased his account, so I assume that took care of his former posts. Think about how much valuable knowledge is now gone. It didn't have to be this way. Rick didn't have to teach me, we've been through the same things. For those who needed confirmation that one could pull themselves up, quit the bottle and help others in need, he is an inspiration.

I have to believe that Rick didn't know his old posts would automatically be deleted.  I tried to talk him out of doing that...to just not come here for now...and come back when he feels like it (he's done that before), or just to read.  I hate that his presence and all the helpful posts were deleted.  sad

Enter the string below into the google search box if you need to find ricks old posts.

site:healingwell.com +timeless rick

Once you have done the search - dont click on the actual title in the results page - just click the link which says "cached".

This will bring up googles copy of his pages.

Act fast if you need something specific - and add to the above search string if you can think of any words which may pin down the post you seek.

Google is behind the refresh rate of all domains on the internet - but the cached pages will be overwritten soon.

Emma some will have gone already - some will be there for years (literally).

Its not possible to say with certainty as its googles secret sauce........ but it depends very much on how fast the pages on this domain are updated. I would say this domain is in the top 10% online for its speed of update so its fast which makes google update and overwrite their cache quickly.

Also this domain is highly thought of by googles algorythms - this will increase the refresh (crawl) rate aswell - thus destroying the cached pages by overwriting them with the ones without ricks posts.

So in summary some will be here for years - some will be gone within days - so act fast.....

For the future - other engines also have cached pages such as Yahoo - the turnaround is far far slower on Yahoo than google - so if you really really are in need of a post and googles cache doesnt hold it - try yahoo as it will probably still be there - the downside being that Yahoo may not have indexed the more recent posts at all.... swings and roundabouts.
