Portal hypertension and Elevated heart pressures

Back in 2008 when I was evaluated for transplant, heart tests indicated that I had slightly increased pressures on the right side of my heart. The transplant cardiologist said that it was probably due to portal hypertension. They have been monitoring it, ever since.

Today, I had my first Doppler ultrasound of the heart following my successful tips surgery in February. I know the tips was done because of my portal hypertension (clot and enlarged vessels). Will the tips reduce the pressures on my heart? Anybody have experience with this?

I have a followup with the cardiologist on the 15th.

Susie, I can't answer that for sure, but it would seem if the TIPS has taken care of the portal hypertension, then it probably would reduce pressure in your heart...assuming that was the cause.
