Hey, Brad! Good to see you back here and to know that your dad is pretty much stable. A MELD of 11 is quite a way from transplant. Transplant is usually not done until a patient's MELD reaches the 20s (higher in some areas.) I do agree with the docs about not poking him again.
It is "normal" for a liver patient to feel exhausted all the time. Since I've been going through transplant evaluation, I also feel "run down," as I'm not getting the rest I need or eating the way I normally do--in fact, not at all most days that I'm fasting for a test, until I get home...and then it's likely to be a WW frozen dinner.
I had to laugh at the surgeon's report after our consult, saying I was "occasionally" tired. Those words NEVER came out of my mouth. I said "chronically fatigued," which I definitely am. There's no "occasionally" about it.
Please do keep us updated on your dad, and remember to take care of yourself, also.
