Blood Work Came back

Hubby's blood work came back and just as I have suspected his ammonial level is at 162!! They said everything else looks good. He oof course is shocked and does not believe me or the nurse. Says he's perfectly fine and not acting weird, etc. SO, getting the increased lactulose in will be a problem. I have already called his transplant coordinator and see what she says......

Tell him, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and smells like a duck...it's a duck. In other words, labs and nurses don't lie. Hope he can accept this. It's good that his other labs look good, though. Sometimes, however, they don't really reflect what is going on.

Good luck with giving the extra Lactulose.

Well, he just asked me why I was waiting on his transplant coordinator to call back, completely not remembering everything I just said to him. He's being a bit combative about this, and has the attitude to go with it. I did tell the coordinator that, so hopefully she will have an answer from the doctor soon and call me back pretty quickly! They are thinking about going ahead and calling in a prescription for the xifaxin again.
