My husband (Louis)passed away yesterday at 4:10 pm. He died at home with hospice and about 50 of our friends and family by his side. When services are over and I get some quiet time I will log on and tell you more about his final few days. Hospice had given him 4-6 weeks...day after tomorrow would have been 4 weeks so they were extremely close in their prognosis. At least he's finally at peace.
Thank you all for your many words of support, information, and love over the past 8 months that I have been posting here.
Will talk more later.

Marilyn, I am very sorry for this sad ending, but glad that you had hospice in his last weeks.  Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

The visitation is today from 5-7 and the funeral tomorrow at 2:00pm. I just want to get through the next couple of days then I can have a little time to myself.
All I can say to those of you out there that are going though this is, get Hospice involved. Everyone was 100% correct about how great they are! At 2:00 am in the morning when my daughter and I were trying to decide whether to give him the morphine they had brought, it was nice to know that we could just pick up the phone and someone was here! No more trips to the ER or trying to drag him out of the bed or making gut wrenching decisions. They did it for us. And when the bleed out came at the end, they were here for that too.
I'll try to log on when this is all over and share more but for now I just wanted to say I read your posts and wanted to thank you.

Sorry for your loss Marilyn. Your strength and informative posts have helped so many on this site. Hospice is unbeleivable!! They also offer counseling for survivors that is a big help too. My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
