Jaundice gone from eyes??

My hubby, who has Hep C, ESLD, and has been very ill since Feb 22, has been doing very well the last several days.  One of the very odd things I noticed about 3 days ago is that when I looked into his eyes   the whites are not the typical yellow color, but white.  It was shocking, as I was used to the yellow tinge. Has anyone heard of this..or has it happened to any of you?  I thought they would always remain yellow, so was a shocker.  Instinctively, it seems like it would be a good thing.  Any experiences or info about this would be helpful.   Thanks for any input.  Hope all have a good Day.

hi angie, not sure on the reason for this and im sure others here will be able to help you more on the medical side of things but just to say, this happens fequently with my hubby. some weeks his eyes are very yellow and so is his neck and cheeks but other days it just vanishes, very strange and again, im not sure why or how only that it must be something to do with the bilirubin levels dropping but not sure why. glad your hubby has perked up some what though!!!!

The higher the bilirubin the more yellow .....so many his bili is low ..and he's feeling good that's a good sign angie ...al' s bilirubin was so high right before transplant he was almost orangeish green really scary...at at that point I would have,been happy for yellow ....al is now back to having color and his eyes are white ......plus he has made 200,cc of urine today ..things r looking up ......big :)
