daughter's MIL qualifies for liver transplant

Connie, my son-in-law told me yesterday that his mom went to the ER in the small town where she lives sometime last year with pain in her liver area. They just told her it was part of her hep c/cirrhosis and did not do a simple ultrasound, which would have found this tumor when it was much smaller. Can you believe that? Makes me furious. Just because it is a small town does not mean that doctors who treat local residents should be incompetent. Georgia.

Hi everyone,

My daughter's MIL's surgeon is the director of the transplant program at the University and Acting Dean of the Medical School in San Antonio, so we feel good about that. We think she will be in the best hands possible. I am planning to do a lot of cooking for the family so that when they are home they won't have to think about it. They can just heat it. And, I will drive whoever needs to get to the hospital. It is about 45 minutes from my house.
