Thanks Connie! I wish I could go but I want to save my time in case she doesn't feel good or if she goes back in the hospital.

My mom couldn't make it to the doctors on Thursday because she was so sick. My step-dad is going to get her blood work with the Creatinine included.
Another thing I noticed on her discharge papers that was strange. The diagnosis said " Possible liver cirrhosis, hepatocerebral degeneration vs multiple systems atrophy.
My step-dad spoke with both the hepatologist and the neurologist. The Hep doctor said they don't think she has cirrhosis because she (the doc) goes by the MRI rather than the ultra sound because it's more accurate. The Neuro doctor said it a round about
way that it is her liver and not neurological. The Neuro doc recommend the Hep doc and said she was great. When my dad spoke with the Neuro doc on Friday he said he thought the Neuro doc didn't want to come right out and say it's her liver and the other doctor is wrong but hinted at that.
So it seems they still don't know what the heck is going on but it looks like we will be looking for a new hepatologist.

Your welcome Connie. This is very frustrating.

A liver biopsy will confirm whether there is cirrhosis or not.

The doctor (hep) said she isn't well enough for a biopsy yet. I can only assume they are waiting for things to calm down. I have asked all these questions. I have read, read and read some more here and took notes to the doctor’s office. If this wasn't so sad it would be funny. I pray that when they do figure out "whatever" it is that it's not too late for my mom.

Summer, since this has gone 4 pages, I'm going to lock this thread and create a Part 2. We find that anything past 4 pages becomes too difficult for people to read.
Hugs,
Connie
