My father received his transplant today

Quick update. My Dad and I are back at the Mayo Clinic for his four month post transplant check up. He is having a liver biopsy today but so far so good.

Jck, thanks for updating us! Good to know your dad is doing well. I've had 2 biopsies since transplant, and the last one showed the hep C damaging my liver...Grade 2, Stage 3 scarring. I'm preparing to do the triple drug treatment.

I hope your dad's biopsy is clear. Please let us know!

We received the results of my Dad's check up today. The biopsy showed some inflammation from the Hep C but no scarring. The docs called my Dad's blood work "pristine" and he has been taken off Cellcept. His prograf is also being lowered.
We will be back at Mayo in four months for another check up.

I am currently awaiting the final committee to put my husband on the transplant list keep us in your prayers .He was currently diagnosed with liver cancer so hopefully he gets extra points for that.Why does that sound sick?

Hi, Dodgersmommy, and welcome to the forum. The committee will undoubtedly give him extra points for cancer. I've been through it twice. The first time the tumor was huge and I didn't qualify for transplant. The 2nd time, it was less than 5 cm and I got a transplant. Could you please give us more information?
