So far I have notdrunk even a sip, even though it tries to seduce& tempt me with its beautiful smells. In my hometown ouzo& tsipouro flows everywhere but I only est the sea food that goes with it and I leave ouzo for my friends.Don't be surprised that your friend had the same prices since the 70's , our salaries are the same too hehe! No I am not tempted by its smells though it tries to seduce me. My hometown is Volos and ouzo or tsipouro here flows everywhere in big amounts but I only eat the sea food that goes with it unless it is salty. My friends are drinking ouzo for me too though in order to keep balances.
Don't be surprised that the prices did not changed, our salaries did not change much since the 70's too (hehe)! Which places you visited in Greece?

Welcome, glad you posted. We have never been to Greece, but I would love to see it sometime. Perhaps if things continue to improve for my hubby we will get there. Seafood sounds so great...we are in the middle of US..1200 miles from any coast and good seafood...boy we both miss that.

I hope things will continue to improve and I wish that both of you one day you will have the chance to have a table full of seafood in a nice place besides sea. Everything will be better just keep strong and you'll be fine, I' m sure it will.

Antonis, it was in NYC that I ate at the Greek restaurant. I have never been to Greece and suppose I never will, given my health and financial situation. One reason that restaurant keeps prices low is that they are close to Columbia University and get a lot of students. It caters to them, not tourists.

OK now I got it. I thought the restaurant you described was in Greece. You never know what life might bring( instead of diseases) I wish that one day you'll ll be able to travel and why not maybe visit Greece. I hope I will make the opposite journey and visit US someday.

Alice is my favorite book. Hope you enjoy it, too. A library should have it. A film based on the book was made in 2011, starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

I have seen the movie (really love Tim Burton's movies) but a book is allways different and I hallways prefer them from movies( with books my imagination travels) .

I agree that the book is always better than the film, though I did enjoy Tim Burton's interpretation of the tale. Stephen King's novels have not translated well to film, with the exception of Misery.

Just had my blood tests results! Everything seems to be under control again and can't wait for the appointment with my hepatologist which will ( hopefully) lead to further medication reduction. I felt like sharingthese good news and I hope thing will be better for all of us! Keep strong everybody!

Wonderful news, Antonis!! Sometimes people become complacent when they start to feel better. Just know that if you drink again that you could crash and never return from it.

Thanks Connie! I quit drinking that's s for sure. I was never a drinker anyway or I was an amateur drinker as I was describing myself. But I will never drink again. It is rule number 1.
