It is hard to believe that it has been 3 months since John had his surgery!! On Thursday we were in Pittsburgh for a follow-up and a MRCP(MRI of his bile ducts). His GGTp and alk phos had been elevated at the beginning of the month and they wanted to make sure that there were no blockages in the duct work. His latest blood work showed that they have decreased, GGTp half of what it was. The surgeon was very pleased with his progress. John ask him if he was behind where he should be because he is still lacking energy and he tires so quick. The surgeon said "No, you are not behind, most people who had a MELD score like you did are dead...." John later told me that he did not realize he was that close to death. Unfortunately myself and the rest of the family did. All other labs are looking good, now to see what the MRCP results are, if everything looks good, we dont have to go back until January!!!
Hope everyone is doing good and trying to stay out of the wet weather that Hurricane Sandy is bringing to our corner of the US!
Take care
Amy
