I had my first liver biopsy yesterday. Went fairly smooth, I have been on alot of antibiotics for H-Pylori and then got sick 2 times in the past 4 weeks becuase my wife brought home horrible colds from the Nursing HOme she works at. My INR was slightly elevated when they tested me, the radiologist said his only concern was if it was to bleed a little it could cause severe pain because of the stretching of the liver capsule.
I told them to just do it and I would deal with the pain if it happened because I want to know what is going on. I was really impressed, the doctor walked me through everything. He mapped it out first, made a little 1 cm incision, stuck the needle in and within 5 minutes had the 3 samples he needed.
Worst part was laying on the bed for 2 hours because the bed only had like 1 inch of foam padding, my butt was numb by the time I got done.
