antibodies against hepatitis C, but no virus? How is this possible?

Hello.

So, here is the history behind all of this.
4 weeks ago i was with a girl that i had
sex with. She has chronic hepatitis b with very low infectivity,
but since im a little bit paranoid i decided to go and
get vaccinated and tested against it.

At the hospital they tell me that from what i told them
the risk for me to be infected is very, very small, but still
i decided to get vaccinated and so i did. I also took some blood tests.

I took the blood test and went home again. about 2 weeks later i was back at the hospital and they showed me the results of the previous blood test.

I do not remember exactly what the test was called (but im sure someone here knows it) but the test showed me:

Hiv: negative)
Hepatits B antibodies: negative
Hepatitis B virus: negative
Hepatitis C antibodies: positive
Hepatitis C virus: negative (Think this one was called HCV RNA)

The girl i was with has not in any form Hepatits C, and
i have never been in contact with any kind of drug abuse
or anything like that in my life. The doctor tells me that we
should do another blood test (which i will get the answers on in next week) and then he asks me a couple of questions.

From the answers i gave him on the questions he tells me
it is extremely unlikely that i will get an answer on the next blood test saying i have hepatitis C at this very moment, and from what i told him and from how my history has been they also said that it's very unlikely that i even had hepatitis before in my life, which makes the hepatitis C antibodies: positive result to seem very strange.

Any ideas of what could be going on here?

but how can it be that I have antibodies against hepatitis C if your test is correct, when it infects so very poorly through sex.

What are the odds for the first test to be 'false', meaning with the RNA? According to the doctor he said, what was strange is that they didnt find any virus at all in my body, how big are the risc that the next test will show them that now i do have virus?

I dont think i have to worry about that right?

No never, i dont do anything at all, i dont even drink alcohol.
According to the doctor and from what they saw i dont have any virus at all in my body, but will still do a RIBA test that
i will get answer on in the next week.

It seems like the doctor thinks it's more likely that the antibodies was falsely shown as positive.

Should i have to worry that the next test will show that i have any virus? According to the doctors he they say im like 99% safe from that, and that they thought it was very strange that i have the antibodies when i didnt have any kind of viruses in my blood,
and when he had asked me some questions (about drugs, straws, etc etc) he said he was about completely sure that
i dont have anything to worry about.

they had checked several times on that test to find any kind of hepatitis virus at all, and couldnt find any.


So, how much should I really worry about this?
From what the doctors and other people have said it seems more like they want to know if i really do have antibodies for hepatitis b, or if it was just a false result.

So in general, how big are the "risc" for another blood test to actually show i have the virus, when the first one said i dont have any virus at all?

im so worried..

i was more interested in if its really possible to first not see any kind of virus at all, and then suddenly see virus in my body.

UPDATE:

I got called by the doctors today, concerning the RIBA-test.
The RIBA-test came back with good results.

No virus, and no antibodies.

I feel so relieved right now i cant describe it, i am so happy.
I will keep on my vaccination for Hepatitis B (which was the real reason i got tested)
because i was with a girl that has a very low hepatitis B risk of infection, and i used
protection when i was with that girl during the sex, but not during other stuff.

So the infection risk on that one was still extremely low but ofcourse i decided to get
vaccinated for it to be sure.

I am so happy right now and so relieved.
