just release from hospital

Hello everyone. I haven't been on for a while. It seemed like everything was going good for a while. Then hospital stay, I was sitting down, then I stood up. I got light headed, and fell to the ground. Both my arms cramped up and both my legs. There was nothing I could do. Wife tried to rub my calves but they were rock hard. Two weeks later was releasd. I hard a form of staphylococcus. They did a tap in my belly, removing 60cc of fluid. Then doctors informed me that my left lung was full of fluid, so they put hoses in to drain. Within 20 mins. liquid poured from my lungs. I feel better, am wondering how fast it will return.

BCgrown, I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully, the fluid and bacteria won't return.

My understanding is that quinine does the trick for cramps. What were they giving you in the hospital? Also, you can do a search here (click on Search above, in the blue bar) for cramps and that will bring up posts about cramping.

Your 4-year-old will likely not remember this when he is older.

Each time Mike was in the hospital before transplantation, he received IV albumin. He didn't have the cramps.

I'm going to ask his TP Coordinator if there is a supplement to take, or if he can get a bag of the stuff from time to time as an out patient. Probably not, but I'm going to ask.
