One site is www.vitals.com/

The other is www.healthgrades.com/

You can find out info about your current doc, write a review, check for malpractice cases, etc.
You can also use it to find new doctors, check out their reviews, education etc.

I found it very helpful when my ex had his second stroke among other things.

I used this when I was looking to find a new Hep. The nice thing is they let you view comments from other users. It was funny, the doctor that made me go to this site and look for a new one was rated on here and the other patients said the same stuff. Not personable, rude etc.

Great I will add that to my repertoire, but you CAN read comments on vitals.com. The other one you can see the survey results but maybe not the actual comments.

I did not go into vitals, I checked healthgrades then got distracted. I thought I went to both but now that you mentioned that I realized I had not.

Interesting that the specialty of hepatology is not included. Also, Mayo docs are not listed, maybe because they don't have private practices.

Connie, I found dr. burns, the surgeon and dr rosser, the big cheese (both at Mayo) on the site, are you sure you're searching the right area?

sometimes you will find them at their prior place of practice as you will see for dr. burns, still listed in MN

Im hoping more and more folks use it so that it can be an even better tool. I like reading the reviews because although some folks may be turned off by a doctor's punctuality, I don't...if it's a good doc, then he is worth waiting for. Docs that fluff you off, I have no use for.

I have found it helpful many times for myself and family over a few years.

 Mae , Can't say I'm fond of that waiting room thing . Hey , My doc knows he's got you by the seat of your pants . People go to Chapel Hill from all over the south because of his reputation and the Universities high standards in medical care . I've met people who drive for 6 and 8 hours one way to get to a appointment with him and the clinic , Kinda makes my almost three hour trip ( One way ) look like skipping through the park . Hayashi is a great guy once you get to know him and he actually has a sense of humor , Couldn't have told me that a few years ago though . 

 And yes . Before one of you mention it , Our docs down here double as veterinaries . smilewinkgrin

Hey Ziff, you could be the first person to rate dr. paul hayashi. I'll even give you a link should you want to, though it appears your doc doesn't need any helping getting new patients:

He seems to be well published in all things liver-related :)

Nice to trust the doc enough to put your life in his hands, and it appears he's done right by you.

Don't be silly David , We stopped doin that leechin and blood letting 2 years ago . Yep , Nothing but one eyed newts and possum snouts down here for us fancy folk . We moved up town !!!! Ain't no backwoods medicine round c'here . Oh yeah Mr. Haney (Ooops ) Dr. Haney says hello .

Mae, thanks to the link to Dr. Rosser. Don't know Burns. Rosser schedules some of my appts. I've met him 2-3 x, but concur with the reviews he's gotten. Very laid back guy, no rushing. Actually, few of them rush. I've never had one try to hurry me along if I had questions.

Ziff, the pinning is done by the Admin. and he doesn't want any more than are already there. However, I can copy and paste the links into Hepatitis Resources.
