Hi, I am themiz,
My husband, themister, has been through treatment for Hep C twice. He obtained SVR the 2nd time. The "riba rage" is what, in my humble opinion, you have going on. We tried the 2nd time (doctor said some people don't need it, HAH!!!) to avoid the anti-depressant. Themister tried two different AD's during first treatment.
First time, the treating doc put him on AD two weeks prior to starting treatment. I was crying and ready to leave him at the doc's office on about week 4. So...if your husband is not on an anti-depressant, call his doc. I think you will find one to " kick the mean" right out of riba rage. Sorry you are going through this.
Themister is now in ESLD. The H.E. is so much worse than "riba rage". For him, he remembers "riba rage" and felt horrid each time. H.E. he does not know happened. David mentioned Hepatic Encephalopathy, or HE. Good call, and could be both, IMHO....but due to the time frame of the treatment drugs for your husband, I am banking on " riba rage". Sadly, in the last two years I have the good fortune to experience both ;) Hang in there. It is the disease, not him.
