Pancreatitis post TP, cyclosporine eighty-sixed, 2 wks into triple treatment

Brother admitted last nite for pancreatitis. My other brother went to his room at Gabriel House and he was fussing with his phone. When asked he told him he was "trying to stop the test in my abdomen". When pressed he said his belly hurt, apparently he thought he could control it via his iPhone.

ER labs showed his ammonia okay so it may be the recent change from 800 mg of cyclosporine to Prograf .5 mg and he's back on Pred.
Also on his second wk of triple therapy treatment.

Total Bilirubin 31.8, not sure why still so high. Creatinine 1.5.
I am heartened, I think, that 2 wks ago his viral load was 69 million and is now 700k.

It just goes on and on with him but he still opens his eyes in the a.m. :)

I am glad that they resolved and it makes me feel better to know it can. He did have it last year but I couldn't remember the treatment as he was so sick with everything else.

Yes they have him on morphine too. He was vomiting when I spoke to him at 9 which could be from ANY of his many meds.

He hasn't exhibited anger yet. Just occasional fog and fatigue. I don't know if he would dare show anger to me anyway because he knows I would say "hey, I'm not your wife or child so you don't get to have the
a crank on with me". LoL

Yeah you surely know about bumps in the road...yours are more like boulders! Bless you heart :)

Yes waiting to hear what they will do for him and hoping it resolves quickly so he can fly home. My other brother has to leave him Wednesday to fly back to work. Hope he is well enough to leave too because you can't stay at Gabriel House w/out a caregiver.

Still trying to arrange for MGH to handle these interim probs and let Mayo manage his meds from afar. Gets pretty expensive flying back there so often.

OH yeah, did he get the pancreatitis from an ERCP procedure? I knew you said you were going to ask they go ahead and at least check, but I guess I might have missed that.

Mae, so they are continuing the triple treatment? That is a good drop in viral load in 2 weeks.

Aside from your brothers other problems, it sounds as if the 3 part cocktail is helping. Let's hope the other issues are resolved and he becomes undetectable. The morphine could be why he's confused. Dilaudid helped the pain, when I had kidney stones, didn't make me goofy or constipated.
